Christmas Kiln to Open and Edwin Meaders Memorial Exhibit

Kiln opening starts promptly at 11:00 am - open 'til 1pm Doors will open at 10:00 am. During this extra hour, preview the kiln ware to be sold at 11:00, shop area contemporary and antique pottery for sale, explore the new feature exhibit. Older pottery for sale will include prized pieces by the Meaders family, early Crocker pieces and other N Ga and Southern makers wares. Meet other collectors and visiting area potters. FEATURE EXHIBIT EDWIN "NUB" MEADERS 1921 - 2015 The rooster man, an icon of Southern folk pottery died September 22nd at age 94. In tribute to Edwins life and dedication to his craft a 50 piece exhibit of his outstanding work in clay will be displayed. See a progression of his famous roosters, his earliest utilitarian ware before he began making roosters and many more unusual and unique forms, some never before seen by the general public or collectors.
