Georgia Mountains Workforce Development (GMWD) is coming to the Banks County Library on Monday\, April 27th at 11 a.m.  I've attached a   flyer about our visit listing all the meeting information along with what schools we partner with and programs we assist with on the back. Please feel free to share this information on social media or with anyone other individuals/organizations that might find it helpful!\n\n \n\nWhat follows is just a brief summary of what we offer:\n\n \n\nWorkforce Development is a federal tuition assistance program funded by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). We are funded through a federal grant so assistance from us is never a loan and never required to be paid back. We assist eligible adults (age 18+\, both unemployed and underemployed) and youth (ages 14-21) in education and training opportunities. Assistance may include tuition\, books\, supplies\, child care\, and transportation cost while attending a college\, technical school\, earning your CDL\, or earning your GED.\n\n \n\nIf possible\, please share the information on the attached flyers with your community. This is a great program for anyone who is currently enrolled in school or considering going back to school if they had the opportunity and assistance.\n\n \n\nIndividuals seeking assistance through the GMWD must be a resident in one of our 13 counties or is/was employed by a company whose business is/was within the Georgia Mountains service area.
